Responsible Boating on Clark Lake

Map showing Clark Lake sensitive areas with critical habitat zones marked in purple.

Clark Lake is enjoyed by anglers, families, paddlers, swimmers, water skiers, wakeboarders, sailors, and recreational boaters. We believe everyone can enjoy the lake while helping to protect its natural resources and ensuring the safety of others.

Share the Lake

Clark Lake is a community resource that belongs to all who use it. Courtesy, awareness, and respect for fellow lake users help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

  • Please be mindful of:
  • Swimmers and shoreline residents
  • Kayakers and paddleboarders
  • Anglers and fishing boats
  • Sailboats and other recreational boaters
  • Wildlife and sensitive habitat areas

Respect Slow No-Wake Areas

Clark Lake contains designated slow no-wake zones established to improve safety and protect shoreline areas.  When entering a slow no-wake area, boaters should reduce speed so that the boat creates only a minimal wake.  Please note the very shallow section of the south shore where respectfully ask boaters to go slowly.

  • Observing these areas helps:
  • Improve safety for all lake users
  • Reduce shoreline erosion
  • Protect fish habitat and aquatic vegetation
  • Minimize disturbance to residents and wildlife
  • We encourage all boaters to familiarize themselves with the location of Clark Lake's slow no-wake zones and to observe posted markers at all times as well as the shallow sections of the south shore.

Prevent the Spread of Aquatic Invasive Species

  • Before launching or leaving the lake:
  • Inspect boats, trailers, and equipment
  • Remove any plants, mud, or debris
  • Drain water from live wells and equipment
  • Dispose of unwanted bait properly
  • Simple steps can help protect Clark Lake and other Wisconsin lakes from invasive species.

Protect Water Quality

Every lake user plays a role in protecting water quality.

  • Please:
  • Avoid spilling fuel or oil
  • Properly dispose of trash and fishing line
  • Respect sensitive habitat areas
  • Follow all boating regulations and safety requirements

Working Together

Protect Clark Lake supports responsible boating and safe recreational use of the lake. By respecting fellow lake users, observing slow no-wake zones, and helping protect water quality and habitat, we can ensure that Clark Lake remains a treasured resource for generations to come.

Clark Lake Cannot Protect Itself.

It takes all of us.
