Wakeboarding involves a rider being pulled behind a boat while holding a tow rope for the entire ride. The rider's feet are secured to the board using bindings, similar to a snowboard. Wakeboarders typically ride 60–70 feet behind the boat and use the small wake to perform jumps and tricks.

WakeSURFING
Wakesurfing is designed around creating a large, surfable wave behind the boat. The rider begins with a rope but typically releases it and rides directly on the boat's wake. Unlike wakeboarding, wakesurf boards generally do not have bindings. The sport depends on specialized wake boats that use ballast tanks and wave-shaping systems to generate larger waves.
When in wake enhanced mode, wakesurfing boats use ballast tanks, wake-shaping devices, and other technologies specifically designed to generate larger waves.
You CAN wakeboard, ski, or tube behind this type of boat when it is NOT in wake enhanced mode. This type of activity (not in wake enhanced mode) does not damage the lakebed when performed outside of the 'slow no wake' areas of Clark Lake.

WHY IT MATTERS
